Senate Fellows serve as professional Senate staff members, with the Capitol as both workplace and classroom, and earn graduate units from California State University, Sacramento. Fellows are expected to have a strong interest in public policy and politics but prior legislative experience is not required. The program welcomes applications from anyone who is at least 20 years of age, a graduate of a four-year college or university, and who is authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program.
